Selling houses is a fine art

A truly start to finish project. History and the present working in perfect harmony was our goal to achieve. History in abundance with a fresh and punchy logo to be encapsulated together. All of the photography was taken in house and outside in some cases. Many of the original tools of the trade were photographed to capture the historical times. The refurbishment, with a play station for children and adults! and the fine art canvas pictures work extremely well to create a very relaxed and enjoyable informal negotiating environment. We hope you enjoy the art as much we did creating it.

A very enjoyable and satisfying project that was enjoyed by both parties.

A Family Tradition
The Quirk Family opened the doors on their Grays estate agency in Orsett Road in 1970. Due to the death of its founder Albert Quirk, the branch was sold off some years later. Albert’s grandsons, cousins Anthony and Russell were just out of school at the time and watched with dismay as the family firm slowly dwindled to nothing from the 14 office group that it had recently been. Unfortunately, their fathers’ were not as committed to estate agency as Albert before them had been and despite Quirk & Partner’s undisputed achievements in South Essex, by 1985 no ‘Q and P’ branches remained.
Determined to resurrect the family name in property, and nostalgic toward their Grandfather’s memory and all that he had worked hard to achieve, Anthony and Russell made a promise to each other that they would revive the business themselves and in 1999 managed to purchase their first office together in Billericay, home of one of Quirk & Partner’s first premises. Canvey Island followed shortly and then Basildon, then Stanford le Hope and in 2004 came Langdon Hills, all areas that had previously been associated with the Quirk name. The new Quirk Deakin brand goes from strength to strength in these towns and to date nearly 4000 people have been ‘moved’ by the experience. So, what next?
Well, Grays and its surrounding areas are inundated with estate agencies. With over twenty that deal with the vicinity from Purfleet to North Stifford and Chafford Hundred to Chadwell St Mary, one thing not needed is another of them, or so you would think. However, Grays was the most successful location for Albert Quirk and his sons in the 1970’s and 1980’s. With this in mind, Quirk Deakin have decided that the success of yesteryear is too great an enticement to ignore and are about to open their sixth office, at 42 Orsett Road in the centre of the Town, just a ‘short stroll’ from the original Quirk shop.
Adorning the walls of Thurrock’s newest estate agency are some much older images: A 1960’s hand painted ‘For Sale’ board found by Anthony in the loft of a house he was marketing recently, traditional measuring devices, documents, adverts and sales particulars all from the Quirk & Partners’ era, sit proudly together in testimony to Albert Quirk, dedicated to him by his grateful grandsons.
